I am from the grove, my haven..
Where the wind gently holds me in her arms
From the fields, her stalks keep my hunger at bay - not feeding only my stomache but my eyes
Her children dance
Cheerfully
As the one who holds me pushes them along, leaving a green trail of motion behind them
My mannerism is that of a drinker, a smoker, and a southerner
My soul a concoction of gravy, potatoes, chicken, and oakra
My personality warm, with a gentle breeze
Quietly
It sways, slumbering in a hammock
Slowly it golds in the summer sun
I'm from the mother, what I take I give back
A tribute
To the water and dirt that creates my shell
I'm from a world
Full of love
Laughs
And warmth
I am you but none of you
I am me
I am from what I choose to be
I am from action and choices
I am from a background different from everyone elses
I just am
