Before I forget, how the citronella candles light your skin
How your face glows smoothly under the moons blanket of silk
Allow me to remember
Your hands
Their soft loving touch
The warmth of your body as I grasp hold
You muffle my whimpers
Kissing me softly on my head
Before I forget
That you have dissapeared
Allow me to remember, the last few years
How you would comfort me for hours
Stroking my back
You'd sing me lullabyes
You called me your little trooper
Even on your death bed
You stayed strong, clutching my hand
Parting your wisdom to one who at the time was deaf
Before i forget
Allow me to remember
Your name and its importance
Nola
A beauty as gentle as the autumn breeze

ReplyDeleteVery very deep. My mind was literally blown. Thank you man for this.
This is a really good poem and i appreciate you sharing with us. I am glad that we can all feel safe here.
ReplyDeleteIt hurts to know that we have all been through such hardships but to know that we can help each other by just listening is enough for me.
