Should people be able to have guns at home for protection???...

I believe that people should be able to have handguns in their houses for protection, because sometimes it just makes people feel more safe when they are at home alone. My grandma has a gun, but she has never used it before because shes never had a reason to. They live out in the country and it just makes her feel safe to know that she has some type of protection when she is at home alone. i know some people dont want others to have guns in the house because not everyone has them for the right reason. Some have and use them for violence, but you see not everyones like that. For example that guy in the article he did not want a gun just so he could shoot up people he only wanted it for his own protection. I am pretty sure he was not planning on using it unless needed. I'm not condoning that guns are good because in the wrong hands they are not. That is one of the reasons I think it is important for people who are buying a gunt to have to get a background check to make sure they don't have any bad records. Although guns are not the only source of protection they seem be one of the main things that make people feel safe and secure.
